John Moore & Sons is a family run building company with more than 30 years experience. In our time we have completed hundreds of projects, working with many happy customers who have in some cases worked with us again and again. Although we put care and quality into every single one of our projects, here are the five that we are most proud of.
The Coniston Hotel was already a very popular hotel, which is why it was in need of an expansion. We were accepted as the contractor and began work in 2011, working on the hotel whilst it remained completely open. The hotel needed to be kept clean and quiet throughout the works as there were still guests on-site. Work included complete renovation of the entrance, reception, toilets, a new lounge which overlooks the lake the back of the hotel and features a large open fire, terrace and seating area.
The original Grindleton Pavilion was an old-fashioned concrete prefab which villagers were desperate to see renovated and improved. Work completed in 2012 and included two new changing rooms with showers, an oak-beamed hall and underfloor heating throughout. This interior development, teamed with extensive renovation to the outside of the building, provided a pavilion that the village could be proud of.
Greenwoods was an old, unused house and barn which had a promising exterior but was otherwise sorely in need of renovation. John Moore & Sons were able to turn this building into a luxurious home with all the modern amenities and a glamorous interior suitable for any celebrity!
The Myerscough Veterinary Group required an extension on the existing building, but under the proviso that the practice could not close at any point, and had to continue to work with patients and owners without causing any disruption or upset. John Moore & Sons worked tirelessly to ensure that a new theatre, ward and additional office space was added to the original building, without causing problems for the practice.
John Moore & Sons worked on the Slaidburn Village Hall to add new stonework which needed to fit with the aesthetic of the hall itself and the local area. The building as a whole was brightened up and a smarter, more modern, look was created.
