Extended Farmhouse

The project in Clitheroe involved the complete refurb and extension to the existing 18th century farmhouse, sitting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in an idyllic forest setting.

This extended refurbishment turned a farmhouse into a beautiful family home. The build took 16 months from start to finish, and we’re proud to say we didn’t miss a single day on site — even when the weather wasn’t on our side!

The finished result gives the lucky homeworker views over Beacon and Longridge Fells in an annexe that is harmonious with its rural surroundings through careful selection of stone, oak and slate.

Client Testimonial

“John Moore & Sons were our main contractor for work undertaken refurbishing and extending our 18th Century farmhouse in the Forest of Bowland AONB.

The work was completed in three separate phases, totalling over two years, and included the sensitive rebuilding and refurbishment of the farmhouse itself, as well as the reconstruction of a vehicle bridge, a separate garage with office space above and an extension to the main house.  As part of the work, all of the buildings were re-roofed, re-plumbed and re-wired, modern insulation was added where possible and a new insulated slab with underfloor heating was poured.

We selected John Moore & Sons following a competitive tender process for the first major phase of work and were sufficiently pleased with their work that we reselected them for the main phase of the work without a further tender.  We have been particularly impressed by the quality of the finish, including the seamless blending of new and old stonework, and the team’s friendly and positive approach. We would not hesitate to recommend John Moore & Sons for future similar work.”
