Once again The Coniston Hotel needed to expand to meet demand and after a successful tendering package John Moore & Sons were chosen from five contractors to carry out Phase 1 of the proposed works.

Work began at the end of January 2011, and as the Hotel remained open for business the site had to remain immaculate at all times. The new Entrance, Reception and Toilets were completed and handed back to the client after just 9 weeks.

Work also commenced on an extension to Macleod‛s Restaurant and took just 10 weeks to complete. Following this, work was started on the refurbishment of the existing part of Macleod‛s Restaurant and Bar, it was essential that this work was completed quickly, efficiently and with the minimum amount of disruption to the Hotel. The restaurant was closed on the evening of the 27th of March and opened for business fully refurbished, just one week later.

Work is now almost complete on the construction of the new lounge at the rear of the Hotel and overlooks the beautiful lake and the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. The new seating area has a large open fire, bar area and terrace.

The Coniston Hotel have once again been impressed by the work undertaken that they have awarded the second phase of the works to John Moore & Sons, this comprises of 20 further bedrooms.
